Part 1: Mischievous Amanda & Jack
Jack is dripping with chocolate brownie batter on his face, his shirt, his arms, his pants, but most of all on his kitchen floor. Instead of getting really upset, he just laughs. Licks the chocolate from his mouth and said it’s tasty. Then he lifts his black shirt over his head, Sue gets a fleeting look at his upper body. He grabs the kitchen towel and tries to wipe the chocolate batter off but it doesn’t help. He needs a good long shower and another change of clothes. He notices that Sue has batter on her face and shirt as well. Jack goes to his master bedroom and grabs his favorite blue shirt. He returns to the kitchen and hand his shirt over to Sue so she can change her chocolate covered white top.
Jack: Sue, why don’t you put your clothes in the washer/dryer? You can wear one of my shirts in the meantime. When I come back from my shower, I want my kitchen back the way it was. Are we clear?
Sue: Thanks Jack. Don’t worry. Amanda and I will clean up the kitchen. Would it help if we said we are sorry? And that you get to have as many brownies as you want. (smiles)
Jack: That’s a good start. I’m beginning to think I can’t leave you two alone in my house. (laughs) I’m sorry I don’t have a change of clothes for Amanda though.
Amanda: Signing-I’m sorry. It won’t happen again, Jack. I promise to clean the kitchen and make it spotless. I don’t mind wearing my sticky clothes. I deserve it. (laughs)
Jack: Good. I’m counting on you to do that. I’ll be back.
30 minutes later, after taking his shower, Jack changes into a gray tee shirt and gray slack. He goes back in the kitchen; and sees that Sue and Amanda are making progress with cleaning up the mess they made. Sue is now wearing Jack’s blue shirt, it looks especially good on her. Jack takes pity on them and grabs a mop to help Sue and Amanda clean the floor. Another adventure behind them, Jack suggests they play monopoly. That is a suitable game with no garden hose or cookie batter near Amanda so she can’t do any damage to his furniture. While playing monopoly, Jack finds out Amanda is really good. She owns all the hotels and Jack is losing big time. But he is having a good time hanging out with them. Later on, Jack bows out of the game because he has no money left. Sue and Amanda continue to play monopoly to see who wins the game. Jack tells Sue he is going to exercise downstairs; he likes to keep in shape, and can do that more on the weekends. He is too busy during the week to exercise much.
Jack is in the basement working out
Jack changes into his blue shorts and pulls off his blue v-neck short sleeve polo so it would not be covered with sweat later while he exercises. Jack is sitting on the weight bench pressing dumbbells up with his elbows to the sides, and extending his arms. Then he lowers the dumbbells to the sides of his chest. Next he repeats the routine. The small scars have healed nicely. Jack has been working out really hard lifting 310 lbs dumbbells every week. Ever since Bobby gave him that Fitness magazine and energy supplements. (laughs)
Jack is so busy bench pressing, he doesn’t notice that Sue is standing in the doorway; watching him work out. Sue came down here to ask Jack something, but now she forgot what that was. Sue can’t take her eyes off of Jack. The muscles in his upper arms flexed and released, rippling beneath tan, smooth skin. Her gaze traveled over his defined pectoral muscles and wash-board abs.
Signing-Wow! Her heart rate accelerates faster, as his body glisten with moisture. Looking at his broad rippling shoulders and his marvelous physique; Sue begins to hum a tune. That’s what Jack heard. Jack realizes that he is not alone in the room. He stopped bench pressing and gets up, towel dries himself, and looks up to see Sue blushing. Jack thinking: Sue looks cute when she blushes. But I better not tell her that. She might take me out. (laughing)
Jack: See anything you like? How long have you been standing there watching me work out, Sue? (wink and teasing Sue)
Sue: Not long. I actually came down to ask you something.
Jack: What’s that?
Sue: Well, I notice you don’t have anything edible in your fridge to make dinner with.
Jack: Yeah, I’ve been meaning to go the grocery store. Then I forget about it, and just order take out instead.
Sue: You should eat more healthy food.
Jack: You don’t think I’m in good shape? (lifts brow and smiles)
Sue: Of course you are. I just meant, what I mean is, I just want you to take care of yourself more, that’s all I meant. Anyway, I’ll save you a trip to the grocery store. After I drop off Amanda at her house and on the way back here, I’ll pick up some food items for the dinner I’m going to make for you. How does that sound?
Jack: Sue, you don’t have to cook dinner. We could just order Chinese food or pizza for dinner. Or anything else you’re in the mood for. Like maybe Sushi again? (laughs) I really don’t want you to go to all that trouble for me.
Sue: No trouble. I want to make you a special dinner. You deserve it after today. And you did spoil me in
Jack: You have a surprise for me?
Sue: Yes. It is something that you really want.
Jack: You’re on. (gives Sue the look, and the signature wink)
Sue: Oh, I should warn you. I promise Wes I would keep you and Bobby in line for him.
Jack: That figures. (laughs) Do you want me to go to the grocery store with you?
Sue: Nope. You stay here, work out some more, and no peeking in the kitchen. Got it?
Jack: Yes. See you later. Don’t take too long at the store. I’ll miss you.
Sue: I won’t be long. Oh, do you want to watch a movie also? I could pick up a couple of DVDs at the video store.
Jack: Sure, if you want. No romantic comedies, lots of action movies. (teasing Sue again)
Sue: What’s wrong with romantic comedies? I thought you like romance.
Jack: I do, but I don’t need to watch a movie to get ideas on how to be a romantic guy for someone special in my life.
Sue: Who might that be? Do I know her? What’s her name?
Jack: Maybe you do. Come to think of it I’m not really sure. (Gives her look, lifts brows)
Sue: Sparky, you better be careful, you know the old saying hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Or in this case a woman who is possessive of her man. (laughing)
Jack: Hey, I let you call me Sparky, one time as a favor to you. Now you are taking advantage of me. You take that back. Or else. (Teasing Sue)
Sue: What are you going to do to me, Sparky?
Jack: I’ll show you what I’m going to do.
Jack sees the four throw pillows on a sofa across from the exercise machine and they grab for the pillows at the same time. But Sue grabs the pillow first and hits Jack with it. Then Jack grabs the other pillow and hits Sue with it. The pillow fight is underway and both continue to toss pillows at each other. They are having too much fun laughing together. And they hit each other with the pillows again. But this time, they both fall down on the sofa. Now, Jack is on top of Sue and she stares up at him. He forgot to put his shirt back on after his workout session.
Sue wonders if he will kiss her. She doesn’t have to wait very long to find out. He places his hands on either side of her head, and leans down to kiss her on the lips. Her fingers touched his wet hair, palms touching his forearms and chiseled muscles. He eagerly kisses her mouth, a voice in his head, tells him you better slow down. Jack pulls back from the kiss so they both can breathe again.
Jack: Uh, Sue maybe we should cool off? (smiles)
Sue: What do you suggest? (smiles)
Jack: Want to go swimming? (smiles)
Sue: Maybe some other time. Seeing as I don’t have a swimsuit today. (laughs)
Jack: Oh well. It was worth a shot. (laughs and adorable smile)
At that moment, Jack hears a crash upstairs. He races upstairs two a time with Sue right behind him to find out what happened. Sue translates for Amanda and Jack after his vase broke.
Amanda: Signing-I’m sorry. I was playing with Levi and
Jack: Signing-Are you okay? I don’t care about the vase at this moment.
Amanda: Signing- I’m really sorry. Please don’t be mad at me. And I’ll pay you back with my allowance to fix the vase. My dad will tell me to do that anyway.
Jack: I’m sure your dad and I can work out a payment plan for you. That’s not a problem. Let me make sure you didn’t get hurt or cut by the vase. Sue, check on
Amanda: Signing-I’m okay. Sorry again. Levi and
Sue: Signing-Yeah. Levi and
Amanda: Signing- I know. I’m ready to go home and get my punishment now. Come on
Sue: Signing-Jack, I’m really sorry. I’ll make this up to you when I get back later.
Jack: Alright. You be careful and drive Amanda home safely. I want you to know that I’m not mad at you. I’ll talk to your dad. Thanks for apologizing to me and not covering it up. You are a good girl.
Amanda: Signing- Is it okay if I take a batch of chocolate brownies home with me, or is that too much trouble?
Jack: Signing-Sure. You made the brownies. It’s yours to share with your classmates.
Amanda: Signing-Thanks, Jack. I am going to leave one batch of chocolate brownies here for you. Because you are the coolest person I know besides Sue. (smiles)
Jack: Signing- Thanks. I will enjoy eating your brownies. See you later. Amanda. (smiles)
Sue: I should be back in a couple of hours. See you then.
