Part 3: More Surprises For Jack

Janice: Every time I see you, you are with a different woman. Care to explain that? (smiles)

Jack: Hi Janice. It’s good to see you too. I don’t know what you are talking about. (laughs)

Janice: I know all about you. I took the Jack Hudson 101 class. You can’t fool me. (laughs)

Jack: That can only mean you talk to Tara and Lucy. And you can’t believe anything they tell you about me. It’s not true. (laughs)

Mia: Hi, I’m Mia, Jack’s friend. How do you know, Jack?

Janice: Hi Mia. Are you Jack’s girlfriend? Boy, you sure do get around, Jack. (smiles)

Mia: No, I’m not his girlfriend. But we go way back. I wasn’t aware he had one. (smiles)

Janice: From the looks of it, he has two, and I’m sure they are both here tonight. I caught Jack in the act, or should I say compromising position with two different women working “overtime” very late at the office two nights in a row. (laughs)

Jack: Hello, you two are talking about me as if I am invisible. I’m right here. You can see me, and I can see you. (laughs)

Janice: Jack is a witty guy. So why should I not believe Tara and Lucy? If I was 20 years younger, I would give your lady friend competition for your affection. Irreplaceable, incomparable, and unbeatable Agent Hudson. (laughs)

Jack: Thank you. Coming from you, I will take that as a compliment. (smiles)

Janice: I don’t believe it; I made you blush. Sue, Tara, and Lucy are going to want to hear about this. Next time I catch you in the act again, I will have pictures to show your team. (laughs)

Jack: Janice, you have gotten me in enough trouble with my co-workers. Don’t make me suffer anymore. (laughs)

Judge Kendall: Happy Birthday, Jack. Your partner is very persistent. Don’t let her get away. (smiles)

Jack: Thanks for the advice. Sue has a very tenacious streak in her. But I think I’ll keep her. (smiles)

Judge Kendall: Billy is doing great. He really has turned over a new leaf. I think that is because he has such a great role model in you. You are one of the finest and bravest men I know.

Jack: Thank you, Your Honor. Judge Kendall. That means more to me than any present you could give me.

Judge Kendall: It’s your party. I’m off the clock; you don’t have to call me Judge or Your Honor at the moment. Harvey Kendall is fine. Look who’s here.

Billy: Happy Birthday, Jack. You are over the hill, and way too old for parties, don’t you think?

Jack: Nice to see you too, buddy. How’s it going?

Billy: Pretty good actually. What did Judge Kendall want?

Jack: He was singing your praises. I’m glad you’re here tonight, Billy. Did you talk to my parents? I know that they would love to see you.

Billy: I’m on my way to chat with them. I wanted to give you your present first.

Jack: Thanks. You didn’t have to get me anything.

Billy: Yeah. I did. If it wasn’t for you, I would have hit rock bottom a long time ago. You make me want to be a better man, a better person. When I am old like you, and if I get to be half the man you are now, I would say I’m a lucky guy.

Jack: Wow. I don’t know what else to say. I want you to know that I’m proud of you. You are a fine man at that! Don’t ever change who you are to please me or anyone else.

Billy: Thanks for saying that. I see your parents waving to me. See you later.

Katie: Signing- Happy Birthday, Jack. This is a great party.

Jack: Signing- How is everything? Are you still thinking about a career in law enforcement?

Katie: Signing-Everything is good. Yes, I am really interested in learning more about criminology.

Jack: Signing-That’s great. If you need any help with your classes in the fall let me know.

Katie: Signing-Thanks. I will. Who’s that guy over there? He’s cute.

Jack: Signing-Who are you talking about? (smiles)

Katie: Signing-Oh sorry. I need to ask Sue something.

Kenneth: Happy Birthday, Jack. Sue invited us to your party.

Jack: Great to see you Ken. Glad you are here. Hi Noah, you still a baseball fan?

Noah: Yep. I didn’t catch a homerun on opening day. But I am the starting pitcher for my Little League team. Happy Birthday, Mr. Hudson.

Jack: Thanks, Noah. Maybe I’ll go to one of your Little League games. Do you think you can get me tickets? And just between you and me, call me Jack. I’m not that old. (laughs)

Noah: Sure. I can get you tickets. How many do you want? Thank you, Jack. (smile)

Ken: Thank you, Jack. I would still be in jail if it wasn’t for you and Sue. I owe you a debt of gratitude I can’t ever repay you back.

Jack: No thanks needed. I’m glad I could help. You are a good man. Noah is lucky to have you for his dad. Sue and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Ken: I finally paid off all my debt. It sure feels good. I’m starting over with a clean slate. Thanks again for everything. I’ll be sure to send the tickets to your office.

Jack: I am looking forward to watching Noah play Little League baseball. (smile)

Jessica: Hey there, stranger. Guess who? Happy Birthday!

Jack: You’re here. I thought you were getting settled in Illinois right about now.

Jessica: I was. But then, I decided I didn’t want to stay in my apartment in Illinois while everyone else was here in D.C. celebrating your birthday. So I flew back to see you.

Jack: I am thrilled that you are here. Working in Illinois agrees with you. (smiles) Abby can help you with renting/selling your house in Middleburg.

Jessica: Thanks. You’re always there for me. I appreciate that more than you know. So far things are going smoothly for me in Illinois. Just like you promise it would turn out that way. Maybe you’re psychic too? (Laughs)

Jack: Maybe. Or maybe I just know what a wonderful person you are. (Smiles)

Sonny: Happy Birthday, Jack. I bet you are getting tired of hearing that phrase from everybody.

Jack: It is sort of getting old. (laughs). Thanks for being here.

Sonny: I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I hear Bobby has a big surprise for you.

Jack: Is that so? Dare I ask what surprise? (lifts brows)

Sonny: I think you’ll find out soon enough. I plan on taking plenty of 8x10 so I can bribe Bobby at the bullpen when I need his help. (laughs)
