Part 1: Friends Celebrate Jack's Birthday
Jack: Signing- Hi Helga. How is everything?
Helga: Signing- Good. Happy Birthday, Jack! Nice party, it’s very festive.
Jack: Signing- Thanks. I’m glad you are here.
Helga: Signing- I still think you and Sue make a lovely couple! Maybe you should take the hint and do something about it. (smiles)
Jack: Signing- I will keep that in mind, Helga. (smiles)
Helga: Signing- Good. I’m going to talk with Sue and Lucy.
Jack: Hey, Wes and Patrick. It’s great to see you two here for my party. You’re not working on an urgent case right now?
Wes: Nope. Not at the moment. We wrapped up another case, now getting a little downtime. Sue called me and told me about your surprise party. Celebrating your birthday is a nice bonus for me and Patrick to see some old friends.
Patrick: Yep. So here we are. You and I did promise to keep in touch. And our next mission will be coming up soon I’m sure. I never get to rest too long. (Laughs, part of the job)
Jack: Thanks, guys. Have fun while you’re here. Don’t leave without saying goodbye.
Buchanan: Hey there, buddy. How did you like playing hotshot attorney at law, mainly being me for a week? (laughs)
Jack: Hey Bruce. It’s great to see you. It was fun while it lasted. But I definitely like where I am now more than ever. Anyway, I thought you were up to your neck in another class action lawsuit against the pharmaceutical company you told me about when I called you last week.
Buchanan: I was. But I got an email from a pretty lady who said I should come to D.C. for this bash she’s throwing for her partner. It was an offer I could not refuse.
Jack: Wait a minute. You know Sue Thomas?
Buchanan: Yeah. I emailed her back. I gave her the scoop on everything you did back in
Jack: You did what? You’re putting me on right? (laughs) Anyways, you were always the one getting me into trouble, not the other way around if I remember correctly.
Buchanan: Sure, buddy. Hey, looks like you’ve got a great life in D.C. Happy Birthday, Hudson. Next time you come to
Jack: Sounds great. Camping with you, will be like old times again. I’m glad you’re here. But don’t even think about asking Sue to dance with you tonight. I might have to clobber you with a 2 by 4. (teasing Bruce)
Buchanan: I hear you. Something tells me Sue has one person on her mind. And unfortunately it’s me, not you buddy. (teasing Jack)
Jack: Very funny, Buchanan. I suggest you try your luck with all the other single pretty women here. I’m sure there are a few that might actually want to meet you. I’ll even put in a good word for you. You’re going to need it in this crowd. (teasing Bruce)
Diane: Rumor has it it’s your special day. Happy Birthday, Agent
Jack: Thanks, Diane. So you’re here to see me.
Diane: Yeah. I didn’t have plans tonight so I decided to stop by. And I heard Bobby was going to sing Elvis songs. You know how much I love Elvis. (smiles)
Jack: I bet you could have any guy you want at your beck and call. On second thought, maybe you are just too picky. (laughs) Did you say Bobby is singing Elvis tonight?
Diane: That’s what I heard. Guess we will find out if it’s true. These days I’m flying solo. Men are way too much trouble and they can’t keep up with me anyway. (laughs)
Jack: I would have to agree with you there. I know that anyone who gets you in the end will be a very lucky man. Enjoy my party. (smiles)
Diane: Thanks, Jack. You are one-of-a-kind. And you know I rarely give out compliments. If my dance card isn’t full by the end of the night, maybe I will steal you for a dance. (smile)
Jack: Sure thing. But I have a feeling you will have to beat the single guys here off with a broomstick. (laughs)
Hannah tells Jack and Sue that she and Brendan are getting married. And Brendan is going to adopt Danny. Hannah says; I finally have my happy ending. Thanks to you both. I hope someday you will be as happy as I am with Brendan.
Jack: Congratulations Hannah. And Brendan, treat her and Danny right, and you won’t have any problems with me and my teammates.
Sue: What Jack means is we care a great deal about Hannah and Danny. And we want them to be happy. So good luck and best wishes to you both on your new life together. Congratulations, Hannah. You got your wish. And I’m so happy to finally meet you, Brendan. I bet Danny is thrilled to have a new daddy.
Hannah: He is over the moon and so am I. I’m going to send out invitations to the whole team, including Wes, Patrick, and Jessica. I hope you all will come to my wedding. It won’t be too long. We have wasted enough time over the years. So expect lots of emails from me, Sue. I’m going to need your advice.
Sue: I love weddings. So does Lucy. She and I will help you in anyway we can.
Jack: Great to see you, buddy. How’s it going, Danny?
Danny: Good. I’m glad to see you and Bobby again. I am getting better at playing American football.
Jack: That’s good. I bet you will play football in school in no time at all.
Danny is smiling and Jack ruffles his hair and the two exchange high-fives. Over on the other side of the room, Bobby, Wes, Patrick, and Myles are talking about Jack and Sue.
