Chapter 9: Ruse Or Exchange
Jessica has one more dream about the man at the beach house. But this time he is not alone. There is a blonde woman with a mole on her left cheek smiling at him. She tells him everything is done. The plan is underway. Eduardo won’t be a problem for us anymore. He says: good work. That’s my girl, Chloe. Keep the boy safe until we are ready to move.
Penthouse
Jack:
Hannah: I’ll do my best. Picks up the phone, after
Eduardo: So nice to hear your voice again, my love.
Hannah: You, Eduardo where is Danny? Where did you take my son? I want him back.
Eduardo: Your son, he is my son. And you will never see him again.
Hannah: If you hurt Danny, I swear to God I will hunt you down and kill you myself. Eduardo do you hear me? I’m not afraid of you.
Eduardo: What a feisty mouth you have. But I have Danny and you have something that I want. So why don’t we make an exchange. I’ll give you back Danny, if you give me the tape.
Hannah: That’s all you care about, the stupid tape.
Eduardo: Do we have a deal or not? You have another minute to decide. Or you have the pleasure of going to Danny’s funeral.
Hannah: We have a deal. Tell me where to meet you.
Eduardo: Good girl. You better come alone. If I see any cops I am leaving with Danny, somewhere you will never be able to find us. Meet me at Sullivan Imports, there’s a ship yard in
Hannah: Hangs up the phone and cries out, No! No! This can’t be happening. Please God, watch over Danny and keep him safe. I need to get to the ship yard.
Jack: Wait a minute, Hannah.
Tara: Yep, I got it; Sanchez is at Sullivan Imports in
Jack: Good work. We are going straight there. Divide up into two teams. Team 1: Wes, Bobby, and me. Team 2: Dimitrius, Myles, and Patrick. Tara, Sue, Lucy, and Stanley stay here with Hannah.
Hannah: I’m going with you, Eduardo said if I didn’t show up. He would take Danny away. He said no cops. I have to go alone.
Jack: No, Hannah. It is too dangerous. You need to stay here with Stanley and the ladies. I will find Danny and bring him home to you. I promise.
Hannah: Okay. I pray you get there in time. Please save Danny. He is an innocent baby.
Jack: Let’s go. We’re wasting time.
Sullivan Imports Warehouse in Vincennes 55 minutes on schedule
Jack and team arrive there on time. Jack is wearing blue suit with light purple shirt and blue tie. They are scoping out the warehouse. Nobody has been seen leaving the warehouse so they must be inside.
Bobby: How do you want to play this, Jack?
Jack: We move in surreptitiously. We don’t want to spook Danny, Eduardo, or anyone else who may be inside. There’s no telling what they might do in return.
Patrick O’Reilly: I’ll take the north entrance with D. and Myles. Jack, Wes, and Bobby take the south entrance. We do a simultaneous breach so he can’t react fast enough.
Myles; Good plan, let’s hope it goes well.
Jack: Everybody, get ready, they move into position and wait for the signal. On my count: 3-2-1. Go. FBI! Freeze. Put your hands in the air. If you move an inch, I will shoot you. Jack thinking, this is way too easy. This is a trap.
Bobby: Down on your knees, hands behind your head; do it now.
There are 4 men guarding the crates, but they all surrender to Jack’s team in a matter of minutes. Jack tells the team get ERT in here; tear this place down until we find Danny and Eduardo. There’s no way I’m letting him leave. Everyone search the warehouse but no luck finding Danny. Jack searches for Danny in the crawl space.
Jack: Danny doesn’t know we are the good guys yet. I bet that’s why he hasn’t come out.
Patrick O’Reilly: Opens the crate and sees Iglas, starts counting, then recount to be sure. Listen up. I am only going to say this once, where are the 12 missing Iglas? Where is your boss?
Myles: Looks like we captured 4 mimes in waiting. I have more bad news. I found Eduardo in a pool of blood; he won’t tell us anything. His throat has been slashed.
Bobby: Looks like someone else got here before we did, killed Eduardo, and poof gone just like that.
Jack: Or maybe we were being set up, a diversion tactic, a decoy?
Bobby: Who? You think the spy did this?
D: Yep, I smell a big time weasel.
Jack: The spy knew we wanted to get Danny back. So the spy used Danny as bait to lure us out here and it worked. We’ve been had, boys.
Patrick O’Reilly: Damn it. I should have known Balitran would pull something like this. He sent us here on a wild goose chase so he could buy more time for himself to launch his attack and get away before the smoke clears.
Wes: Yep, I agree. This all stinks. We need to figure out who and where the spy went.
Patrick O’Reilly: We’ve all been royally duped. I want Balitran and his mole heads on a platter. Jack and the team agree and all head back to Victoria Palace Hotel.
Meanwhile, Hannah is worried and continues to cry. Sue is trying to comfort her.
Hannah: Where is Danny? Jack, you told me you were going to get Danny and bring him home.
Jack: I’m sorry, Hannah. Danny wasn’t there. Someone got to him before we could rescue him. Eduardo is dead.
Hannah: He killed himself?
Bobby: We think the spy killed Eduardo and must have taken Danny.
Jack: I need to speak to Sonny. Maybe she has news that we will help us. D. and Myles, I want you to track down the witness who saw the spy, see if he remembers anything else that could shed some light on the case. Bobby, check with Interpol to see if they have anything on the mole as well. We can sure use some good luck right about now.
On the video conference with Sonny & Jessica
Jack: Hi Sonny. You got something for me?
Sonny: Well, I wanted you to know that Jessica had another dream. She wanted to tell you right away but
Jack: I was, but didn’t have any luck. Thanks, Sonny. Please put Jessica on.
Jessica: Hi, Jack. How are you doing?
Jack: I should be asking you that question. I’m tired but what else is new. Sonny just said you had another vision.
Jessica: Yes. There are two people at the beach house that I told you about before. This time I saw a man and woman are talking about a plan being underway. The man called the woman Chloe and she told him I took care of your little problem. She is tall, blonde, has a mole on her left cheek. She is the woman who kidnapped Danny. I’m sure of it. The man also said to keep the boy safe. The beach house is two stories up overlooking a bluff. There is a sign-Saint Gabriel nearby. It is a good scenic route. That is all I can remember. I hope that helps you.
Jack: Jessica, you are the best. You have been a huge help. And may have given us the break we need to get Balitran and Chloe after all. I have to go and follow up on your vision. But I will call you tomorrow for sure. Take care. Get some sleep. You deserve it.
