Chapter 14: Fun Day In City Of Lights

Jack: What is the plan for today? What do you all want to do?

Sue: I’m going shopping with Lucy, Tara, and Hannah. Do you mind taking Levi with you since Danny is coming with you today.

Jack: No problem. But I thought you wanted me to give you the grand Paris tour.

Sue: I do, but shopping in Paris, is a once in a lifetime experience. And Lucy will never forgive me if I ditch her to hang out with you.

Jack: Okay. Maybe we can do something tomorrow, just the two of us.

Sue: Sounds like a plan. Take care of Levi for me.

Jack: I will. Have fun on your shopping spree.

Everyone is ready to go sightseeing and shopping. They decide to meet for dinner later in the evening. Jack is wearing blue polo and blue slack. The women all leave and the men are trying to decide where to go sightseeing first. Of course, Danny wants to play American football right now. Bobby tells him we will play football after lunchtime. Danny says okay and plays with Levi while the men continue talking.  The men decide to start at L’Arc De Triomphe and work their way down the list of famous landmarks in Paris.  Such as the Tour Eiffel, Musee du Louvre, Les Champs-Elysees, Le Cathedrale Nortre Dame de Paris, and Basilique du Sacre-Coeur just to name a few.

The women are shopping at Les Galeries Lafayette and getting some good bargains. They also shop at Halles de Paris and have lunch at Café du Monde. After lunch, the women go sightseeing; Hannah takes them to all the places the men went to see in the morning. The men have just finished lunch at Café Rochelle and taking a break from sightseeing. And they are now teaching Danny how to play American football.

Bobby: Danny, watch how I hold the ball. And then take a step back, and throw the football.

Jack: Watch me, Danny. (Jack is down the field where they set up as the football zone) he catches the ball from Bobby. Now, you try it Danny.

Danny: Holds the ball in his hand, takes a step back, and throws the ball. Bobby runs to catch the ball but couldn’t grab it in time. Can we try that again?

Jack: Sure thing, kiddo. We will practice as many times as you want.

Bobby ruffles Danny’s hair. Then Danny throws the football and this time Bobby catches it and holds it up so Danny can see it. Danny runs over to give Bobby a hug.

Danny: Wow, I really threw the football far. I can’t wait to tell my mom about learning how to play American football with the “big boys”.

Dimitrius: You want to see more football moves, Danny? Danny nods yes. D tells him that he has a son who is 10 years old. And if you ask your mom, and she says its okay, then you and my son can be exchange emails and become pen pals. Would you like that?

Danny: Yes, that would be so cool.

Dimitrius: Alright. After teaching Danny a few more plays like how to tackle Bobby to the ground, but be gentle with him. (laughs)

Let’s have some real fun. It’s time to play Touch Football.  Team 1: Bobby, Jack, D. and my man Danny. Team 2: Myles, Patrick, Wes, and Stanley. The men have a blast running around and throwing the football. Levi is having fun chasing Myles around. After 2 hours of playing, they are tired and sweaty. They all need a good long shower before they meet the women for dinner tonight. Team 1 won, the score is 24 to 7. Danny scores his first touchdown. He can’t wait to tell his mom about this whole day hanging out with the “big boys”.

They explore the left banks of the Seine River in the Louvre district before heading back to the hotel. They walk around and browse the little shops to buy gifts for themselves and the women in their lives. Myles sees a Rembrandt painting he wants to buy and he bought a book for Nora. Bobby sees a necklace that he knows Darcy would love, he buys it for her. Stanley looks at a pair of turquoise earrings and a cute figurine that Tara would love; he bought both gifts for her. Patrick O’Reilly buys a charm bracelet for his daughter. Dimitrius buys perfume for Donna and stuff animals and key chains of the Eiffel Tower for his kids. Wes buys t-shirts, chocolate truffles, and some souvenirs for everybody.

Jack looks around and goes to different shops until he finds exactly what he wants to get for Sue. He also buys a scarf for Jessica to thank her for helping with the case. Danny sees a stuff animal he wants to have, so Jack buys that for him too. Jack buys Levi some doggy treats and another bunny. In addition, Jack buys souvenirs for his family and friends back home.

The shops are doing very well with the entire American tourist in Paris. They continue to shop for another hour and return to the hotel with gifts in hand before the women are done with their shopping trip. The women have shop until they drop, literally. There are so many bags of clothes, accessories, and cute souvenirs. As they head back to the hotel, Hannah thanks the ladies for making this day shopping and sightseeing so much fun.  They laugh and are talking about what to wear to dinner tonight. They get to the suite and the men are waiting for them to return so they can all go out on the town.

Bobby: What took you mates so long? We have been waiting for hours now?

Danny: mimics Bobby and says yeah, mom I’ve been waiting for you to get home so we can eat. I’m starving.

Hannah: Sorry sweetie we had so much fun shopping we forgot to check the time.

Sue: We better get ready before the guys decide to have dinner without us.

Tara: Yep, we wouldn’t want to keep the men waiting any longer than necessary.

Lucy: Except they don’t have to worry about makeup and what accessories go with our dresses. Men always have it easy. (Laughs)

Dimitrius: Can you all just go change?

Jack: We don’t want to leave without you, but we might have to before Levi chews the furniture. (Laughs) We men are starving.

58 minutes later-The women walk out and are ready to go. Jack is wearing navy suit with blue shirt and navy tie.  Jack thinking: Sue looks so pretty tonight in her ivory beaded slip dress.

Jack: You four women look very nice! (smiles)

Bobby: Trying to think of something clever to say but all I can come up with is beautiful.

Stanley looks at Tara and thinks: He can’t believe how lucky he is to go out with her.

Myles: Enough said. You all look great. Let’s go to dinner. I am man, I need food. (laugh)

They went out to dinner at Gerard Besson Restaurant. The food and dessert were excellent. And afterwards they go walking along the streets of Paris to enjoy the night life of this picturesque city. They get back to the hotel around 10pm. Hannah puts Danny to bed and thanks the gals for going shopping. All that walking and buying clothes have tired me out. Goodnight all. See you in the morning. The men go back to their rooms and get some sleep. They had a great day playing football and seeing the sights of Paris. They all say goodnight except for Sue, Lucy, and Tara. In the living room, Sue asks Lucy and Tara to help her do something nice for Hannah. The day after tomorrow they are flying home.

Sue: Tara, can you track down where Brendan Miller is now?

Tara: Sure, but do you mind if I ask why?

Sue: Because Brendan Miller is the love of Hannah’s life. They met and fell in love 10 years ago. She hasn’t heard from him since the day he walked out of her life. I would like to surprise her. If you can find Brendan Miller before we leave Paris.

Lucy: That is a great idea. Come on Tara work your magic.

Tara: Thanks for the vote of confidence. I will do my best to find Brendan Miller as fast as I can. No guarantees though.

Sue: I know but we have to at least try to find him for her.

In the next suite, Wes and Patrick are still up. They are talking about work, their life, and CTA business.

Patrick O’Reilly: Wes, you have done an amazing job going deep cover in L.A. the past 10 months. I want you to know how much I appreciate that. And I am prepared to offer you a permanent job working with me at CTA, if you are interested?

Wes: Wow! Thank you, Patrick. I do like my job and it is worth it every time we catch the bad guys. Let me think about the offer for a few days before I give you my answer. Is that alright?

Patrick O’Reilly: Sure. I just want you to know that the offer is available anytime you want. You would be an asset to CTA and me.

Wes: But if I take the job at CTA, what will my position be; what kind of perks will I get?

Patrick O’Reilly: I knew you were going to ask me that. Besides going to “hotspots” wherever we are needed and using the Lear Jet. You get all the benefits that you have with the FBI now. Just add more danger, challenges, and excitement to your job description. You are the best I’ve seen in a long time.

Wes: Thank you. That means a lot to me, Patrick. I will let you know my decision soon.

Patrick O’Reilly: Not trying to rush you, Wes but I would like to know if you want the job at CTA before I’m back in L.A.  The President wants a meeting with me when we get back to Washington then I leave D.C. and back to the streets of L.A. Well, that’s all I needed to say. They both say goodnight and hit the sack.

Meanwhile, Jack is planning a fun day tomorrow with Sue. He’s got a few surprises in store for her.
